PRODUCT FAQ

Natural or synthetic?

Natural-source d-alpha tocopherol, not synthetic dl-alpha.

Should I take it with food?

Yes, vitamin E is fat-soluble and absorbs better with a meal.

About this product

Vitamin E 100 IU Softgels — full description

Vitamin E 100 IU softgels deliver 67 mg of natural d-alpha tocopherol in an oil-filled softgel. One a day, 90 softgels, a three-month supply.

What vitamin E does in the body

Vitamin E is the main fat-soluble antioxidant in cell membranes. Polyunsaturated fats in those membranes oxidise easily, and tocopherol is what intercepts the chain reaction before it spreads. Vitamin E contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress — the one authorised claim, and the reason it is taken alongside unsaturated fats rather than on its own.

Natural d-alpha tocopherol, not dl-alpha

Synthetic vitamin E (dl-alpha tocopherol) is a mixture of eight stereoisomers, only one of which the body recognises properly. The natural form, d-alpha tocopherol, is that single isomer: the transport protein in the liver binds it preferentially, so blood levels per milligram are roughly twice as high. These softgels use the natural form.

Vitamin E with omega-3 and vitamin C

The more polyunsaturated fat in the diet, the more vitamin E the body needs — which is why it sits naturally next to omega-3 fish oil or vegan algae oil. Vitamin C regenerates oxidised vitamin E back to its active form, so vitamin C 500 mg works in the same system from the water-soluble side.

How to take vitamin E softgels

One softgel a day with a meal. Vitamin E is fat-soluble: taken with food containing fat, absorption is severalfold better than on an empty stomach. If you take anticoagulant medication, check with your doctor first — high doses of vitamin E can affect clotting.

What is in each softgel

  • Vitamin E (natural d-alpha tocopherol) — 67 mg (100 IU), 558% NRV
  • One softgel a day, with food
  • 90 softgels — a three-month supply

Questions people ask

Is 100 IU enough?

It is well above the 12 mg EU reference intake while staying far below the 300 mg upper level EFSA sets. Very high doses of vitamin E have no demonstrated benefit.

Can I take it with vitamin A and D?

Yes — all three are fat-soluble and share the same meal-with-fat rule. See vitamin A and vitamin D3.

Is it suitable for vegetarians?

The tocopherol is plant-derived; the softgel shell is listed on the label. Full range in vitamins.

Good to know. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Food supplements should not replace a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Talk to your doctor before use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication or have a medical condition. Keep out of reach of children. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
