About the farm

We grow every mushroom that goes into our supplements.

Herbalson is a laboratory, a farm and a production line under one roof. We grow functional mushrooms from the strain up and make the supplements ourselves — no repackaging of imported bulk material.

We are a mushroom farm, not a packer

We grow both the fruiting bodies and the mycelium of five functional mushrooms — Lion's Mane, Cordyceps militaris, Reishi, Turkey Tail and Chaga — on our own farm.

We don't buy raw material abroad and we don't put someone else's powder in our own packaging. We run the whole path ourselves — from a sterile tube of pure culture to the finished extract and supplement.

Five species, one farm

Five species taken through the full cycle — fruiting bodies and mycelium both — under one roof, from a sterile tube of pure culture to the finished extract.

Why functional mushrooms

Mushrooms have been part of Asian food and wellness traditions for thousands of years. Today the interest in them has returned at a different level: they are studied, standardised, measured. For a long time this market ran almost entirely on imports — finished powders and extracts shipped in from China, with buyers unable to verify where the raw material came from or what was actually behind the name on the jar.

We decided to close that gap at the very start of the chain — at cultivation. Because you cannot fix the quality of an extract at the final stage: it is set where the mushroom itself grows.

Full cycle

Six stages, all under our control

"Full cycle" isn't a marketing phrase here — it describes how the farm is built. We control every stage.

01

Pure culture

A living culture in a sterile tube — the genetic basis of the harvest.

02

Mycelium

Propagated on a nutrient medium. For some products it is valuable in its own right.

03

Fruiting body

Climate chambers with precisely set temperature, humidity and light.

04

Drying

Gentle drying that preserves the valuable compounds.

05

Extraction

A concentrated form, standardised by composition.

06

Product

Supplements traceable back to a specific batch and growing chamber.

Our mushrooms

The five cultures the farm is built on

🦁
Hericium erinaceus
Lion's Mane

The most recognisable functional mushroom of recent years — its white, icicle-like clusters are unmistakable. We grow both the fruiting body and the mycelium, working with both because their composition differs.

⚡
Cordyceps militaris
Cordyceps militaris

A bright orange mushroom and a difficult one to cultivate. Most "cordyceps" on the market is cheap grain-grown mycelium. We grow real fruiting bodies — one of the most technically demanding cultures there is.

🌙
Ganoderma lucidum
Reishi

The "mushroom of immortality" of Chinese tradition — hard, lacquered, with a glossy cap. One of the most studied functional mushrooms in the world. We grow it through the full cycle.

🦃
Trametes versicolor
Turkey Tail

One of the most researched functional mushrooms. We cultivate it under controlled conditions to get stable, clean raw material, rather than foraging it from the forest with unpredictable quality.

🪵
Inonotus obliquus
Chaga

A powerful natural antioxidant with a high SOD content. A 10:1 extract made from our own raw material is a completely different level from a shop-bought tea.

The lab

Sterility is what all of it rests on

A sterility failure at any stage and the batch is gone. That is why we run our own lab: we keep the pure cultures, subculture them, check the mycelium under the microscope and discard anything questionable long before it reaches a fruiting chamber.

It is also what makes traceability real rather than decorative. For any batch of product we can say which culture and which chamber it came from — not because a certificate says so, but because we were the ones who grew it.

See what it actually looks like

A fresh harvest of Lion's Mane and Cordyceps militaris, straight off our trays, in the same room where the finished product is kept. No studio — this is working footage from the production floor.

That is the founder in the video.

A farm is the people who are in the room every day

The team is small. The same people who sort the harvest, subculture the strains and fill the bottles are the ones who decide what the product is. The founder sorts cordyceps himself — not for lack of hands, but because that is where the quality of a batch is visible.

It is also why we show the production floor rather than describing it. A phrase like "full cycle" is only worth what you can check with your own eyes.

Why nobody had done this

Growing one functional mushroom is a job of work. Growing five — fruiting bodies and mycelium both, under one roof — is five different sets of conditions, five technologies, five sterility control lines. Each mushroom needs its own climate, substrate and rhythm. A sterility failure at any stage and the batch is lost.

That is exactly why most of the market took the easy route of buying in finished powder. We took the hard one and kept all five cultures in-house. That is not luck; it is years of work with the cultures, the equipment and the process.

What we believe

Trust in functional mushrooms starts with transparency, not marketing. A buyer has the right to know where and how the mushroom in their supplement was grown. This category deserves real full-cycle production behind it — not permanent dependence on somebody else's raw material.

What the science says
about functional mushrooms

We don't invent effects. Below are 20 papers from PubMed (National Library of Medicine, USA) covering every mushroom in our range. Each link opens the original study record.
